GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced it's weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2019 Season. Saginaw Valley St. senior Emily Barker claimed top honors in women's action, while Northwood Cameron Lippoldt earned accolades on the men's side.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Emily Barker - Saginaw Valley St.
Senior Emily Barker led the SVSU Women's Golf team to their second team title of the season after securing her first collegiate victory at the 2019 Mike Laleaff Memorial Invitational. Barker bounced back from an opening round of 83 in tough conditions to card an even-par 72 on day two, securing a two stroke victory in the event. SVSU won the team championship by 12 strokes over Davenport University with scores of 328-310.
MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Cameron Lippoldt - Northwood
Cameron Lippoldt placed first overall as the Timberwolves finished third at the Motor City Invite Sunday-Monday. Lippoldt opened play with a score of 67, and concluded round two with a 75, finishing the tournament with an overall score of 142.
