GVSU's Kristjansdottir, FSU's Hursey Claim GLIAC Golf Weekly Awards

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its golfer weekly awards following the fourth week of tournaments. Ferris State sophomore Thomas Hursey claimed Men's Golfer of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, while Grand Valley St. sophomore Arna Kristjansdottir earned Women's Golfer of the Week accolades.


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Thomas Hursey - Ferris State

Ferris State University sophomore men's golfer Thomas Hursey earned individual medalist honors for the second consecutive tournament at the Bill Blazer Memorial over the weekend in Pickerington, Ohio. Hursey tied for first overall in regulation with a 137 score on rounds of 68 Friday and 69 on Saturday before eventually winning a four-hole playoff for medalist honors. His play helped FSU finish third overall in the tournament held at Turnberry Golf Course.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Arna Kristjansdottir - Grand Valley St. 

Led by sophomore Arna Kristjansdottir, The Grand Valley State Lakers claimed the team title at the 2021 Cavalier Classic in Canton, Ohio. Kristjansdottir recorded a second-place finish with a 145 (+1) and tallied four birdies while shooting a +1 73 second-round after an even par opening 18.
