Saginaw Valley State's Zach Myers Named GLIAC Men's Soccer "Athlete of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. -  Saginaw Valley State University senior forward Zach Myers (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Eastern) earned GLIAC Men's Soccer "Athlete of the Week" honors after leading the Cardinals to a pair of wins to open the 2012 campaign.

Senior forward Zach Myers led the Cardinals to two victories over GLVC opponents this past weekend, scoring five goals in two games on seven shots.  Myers scored five of SVSU's seven goals in their first two games of the season, including a three-goal outing against St. Joseph's on Sunday (Sept. 2).  He also netted two goals in the 3-1 season opening win against Lewis University on Thursday (Aug. 30).  Myers, the 2011 GLIAC "Defensive Player of the Year," made the switch to the front line for Cardinals in 2012 after playing his first three seasons as a defender.
