GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 3 of the 2021 Men's Soccer season. Parkside swept the honors as junior Rade Novakovich earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the second straight week. Teammate Alexandre Durand claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rade Novakovich - Parkside
Rade Novakovich (Muskego, Wis.) played a role in every single goal scored in the 23rd-ranked Rangers' two wins this week. He scored the first two goals against Northwood, then recorded assists on the third and fourth goals. He added the game's lone goal during the 96th minute in overtime to defeat Saginaw Valley, 1-0.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alexandre Durand - Parkside
Junior goalkeeper Alexandre Durand (Paris, France) allowed only one goal in his two starts this week for Parkside. He tallied a total of 12 saves on 13 shots
on goal, including four against Northwood and eight against SVSU.
