GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State and Parkside will represent the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship, the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee announced during the selection show on Monday evening.

Saginaw Valley State will serve as the Midwest Region's No. 1 seed, earning a first-round bye. The Cardinals will host the winner of No. 8 Lake Erie (10-7-3) and No. 9 Southern Nazarene (12-5-3) on Sunday, Nov. 13 at noon at Braddock Field in University Center.

Saginaw Valley State, ranked No. 4 nationally, won the GLIAC regular season championship and the postseason tournament championship. The tournament title is the second in program history for the Cardinals and the second time SVSU has claimed both the regular season and postseason crowns in the same season. The Cardinals finished the regular season unbeaten, with a record of 14-0-4.

Parkside is the No. 10 seed and will meet No. 7 UIndy (10-4-3) on Friday, Nov. 11 at noon at host Ashland.

Parkside has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year, as the team made appearances in 2019 and 2021, with the 2020 tournament being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rangers enter the tournament following a regular season that ended with 10-3-4 overall record.
