Grand Valley's Ramahi and Ferrero Named GLIAC Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively

BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior Jasmine Ramahi (Chicago, Ill./Niles West) and freshman Gianni Ferrero (Idstein, Germany) were named Great Lake Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively, for their efforts last weekend.

Jasmine Ramahi - Grand Valley State University
Senior - Chicago, Ill./Niles West

Grand Valley State University senior Ramahi finished first and hit the NCAA DII A cut with a score of 259.58 on the 1-meter diving board. Ramahi added a score of 212.10 that counted as an exhibition, but would have been good for second on the 3-meter diving board.

Gianni Ferrero - Grand Valley State University
Freshman - Idstein, Germany

Grand Valley State University freshman Gianni Ferrero opened the week by hitting three NCAA B cut qualifying times and setting three GVSU freshman records in his first-ever collegiate competition for the Lakers at Nova Southeastern. Gianni opened with a blistering 49.59 lead leg in the 400 medley relay, setting the freshman record and hitting the B cut. Ferrero added B cut times and freshman records in the 200 IM (1:50.18) and 500 freestyle (4:30.62) during the dual meet at Nova Southeastern. Gianni also added a first-place finishes in the 200 medley relay and the 100 free at Findlay (47.72).
