BAY CITY, Mich. - Ferris State clinched the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Tennis regular season championship on Sunday (April 19) after a 6-3 victory over Ohio Dominican in Columbus. The Bulldogs completed their run through the league schedule with an unblemished 9-0 record to take home their first outright conference title since 1994 and snapped Northwood's streak of 15 consecutive regular season titles.
The six-team field has now been set for the 2015 GLIAC Men's Tennis Tournament April 24-26 at the Midland Community Tennis Center in Midland, Mich. Ferris State will be the No. 1 seed and look for its second conference tournament title after raising the trophy in 2012. Grand Valley State earned the No. 2 seed after an 8-1 mark, while Northwood (7-2) will be the No. 3 seed and face No. 6 Findlay when action begins Friday, April 24 at 6:45 p.m. Wayne State is the No. 4 seed and will battle the No. 5-seeded Tiffin Dragons in the first round. Both teams finished 5-4 with WSU earning the head-to-head tiebreaker.
