GLIAC coaches and players receive Midwest Region honors
TEMPE, Ariz. – The 2019 ITA NCAA Division II men’s and women’s regional award winners were announced on Wednesday. 
 
The ITA sponsors the following awards: Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year, ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award, ITA Rookie of the Year, ITA Player to Watch, ITA Most Improved Senior, ITA Senior Player of the Year and ITA Community Service Award.
 
Wayne State head coaches Bryan Morrow (men) and Sheila Snyder (women) received Wilson/ITA Midwest Region Coach of the Year Awards. Assistant coach of the year awards went to WSU's Bob Jackson and Grand Valley State's Jorge Rodriguez.

Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Awards went to WSU's Taylor Vane and GVSU's Nicole Heiniger. Wayne State's Niklas Karcz was named an ITA Player to Watch, while Dasha Kuznetsova of WSU was named an ITA Most Improved Senior.

Grand Valley State's Madi Ballard received the Midwest Region's ITA Senior Player of the Year Awards. The Wayne State women's tennis team garnered the region's ITA Community Service Awards.
