NEW ORLEANS – The regular season is over in Division II, and with all the marks in, Grand Canyon’s men are still the No. 1 team in the country. Southern Connecticut jumped four spots to No. 3 after a massive flurry of season-best marks grabbed at the New England Championships last weekend.
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as a whole was ranked as the third strongest conference behind the Northeast 10 and the Rocky Mountain Conference. The GLIAC teams ranked in this weeks poll are:
- Ashland University dropped two places to No. 5
- The University of Findlay remained No. 9
- Grand Valley State University dropped two places to No. 14
- Lake Superior State University three places to No. 25
The NCAA will release the list of those accepted into the national championships today (Feb. 28). Next week’s national team rankings, released next Monday, will contain only marks from those declared and accepted into the national meet. The latest regional index is the final release of the indoor season.
The 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Mankato, Minn., on March 9-10.
