NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday the All-Region honorees for the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) amassed 176 all-regional honorees; 94 men and 82 women.
The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions’ top three relay teams. The regions used for this award match those used during the cross country season, and student-athletes must come from USTFCCCA member institutions.
The 2015 season will conclude May 21-23 in Allendale, Michigan, at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships.
The women saw 651 separate competitors accumulate 931 total honors.
At the team level, Southern Connecticut led the way on the women’s side with 26 total honors. NCAA Championships host Grand Valley State with 24 and Slack’s New Mexico Highlands squad with 22 were the next teams on the list, just ahead of defending national champion Lincoln (Mo.) with 20.
The Northeast-10 led all conferences for both the men and women with 101 honors, followed by the GLIAC for both genders with 94 and 82, respectively.
