Saginaw Valley's Lobdell, Willman Earn GLIAC Softball Player of the Week Awards Sweep

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following the seventh week of the 2017 campaignSaginaw Valley junior Evy Lobdell earned GLIAC Softball Player of the Week honors, while Saginaw Valley senior Sam Willman captured Pitcher of the Week accolades for the second time this season to give the Cardinals the sweep.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Evy Lobdell, Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley junior first baseman Evy Lobdell had a standout weekend offensively, leading the Cardinals to a 4-0 weekend over Lake Erie and Walsh. Lobdell hit .588, going 10-17 with four doubles and seven RBI. She had the game-winning RBI single in SVSU's 1-0 nightcap victory over the Cavaliers on Saturday as well. 


PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Sam Willman, Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley senior Sam Willman went 2-0 over the weekend in helping lead the Cardinals to a 4-0 record over Lake Erie and Walsh. She had an era of 0.00, wllowing no runs and just five total hits on the weekend. She also started for SVSU in the team's 19-0 win over Walsh in Saturday's opening game. In the nightcap against the Cavs, she carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Willman notched 14 strikeouts in her 16.0 innings pitched as well.
