GVSU's Lipovsky and Northwood's Dutoi receive softball player of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following Week 11 of the 2019 season. Northwood sophomore Grace Dutoi was named Player of the Week, while Grand Valley State senior Allison Lipovsky was the Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this season.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK  - Grace Dutoi - Northwood

Outfielder Grace Dutoi (Saginaw, Mich.) had a huge week at the plate for Northwood, hitting .647 over the span of seven games. She went 11-17 with a home run, four doubles, a triple and 11 RBIs. Dutoi finished the week with a .700 on-base percentage and a 1.176 slugging percentage. In the four games played Saturday and Sunday, Dutoi was 10-13 (.769) with 11 RBIs as NU went 3-1 in road games against Ferris State and Purdue Northwest. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Allison Lipovsky - Grand Valley State

Senior Allison Lipovsky (Harrison, Mich.) went 2-0 with wins over Ferris State and Northwood after allowing zero runs over 13.0 innings pitched. She tallied 21 total strikeouts to just one walk all weekend and held opposing lineups to just eight hits. Lipovsky struck out 14 Ferris State batters while allowing four hits before coming in for relief in the second game of a doubleheader. She tallied six Ks against Northwood.
