D2CCA Announces Softball All-America & All-Region Honorees

EVANSVILLE, Ind.— For the second straight year, Grand Valley State University junior pitcher Allison Lipovsky and Truman State University junior outfielder Christa Reisinger have been named the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association Midwest Region Softball Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively, in a vote by the Midwest Region's sports information directors. In addition to the nine all-region selections, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) was represented in the All-America selections in yesterday's announcment.

Lipovsky, the three time GLIAC Pitcher of the Year, finished the year with a 31-2 record and became the winngest pitcher in program history with 0.84 ERA, while tallying a total of 326 strikeouts in 224 innings pitched. This marks the second conescutive year in which she reached the 300-strikeout plateu, and also became the program single-season recorld holder for most strikeouts in a season.

Lipovsky was also named to the all-America first team, while Ashland designated player Dayna Denner was a second-team pick. GVSU first baseman Nikoma Holmen and Wayne State utility player Hannah McClounie were third-team selections. GVSU third baseman Lydia Goble earned all-America honorable mention.
