Lakers are 10th, Warriors 16th in NFCA Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Grand Valley State softball team moved up one spot from 11th to 10th in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll, while Wayne State jumped from 24th to 16th.

The Lakers are 14-2 with eight straight wins. They play double-headers this weekend at Cedarville and Ohio Dominican.

WSU is 12-3 heading into Thursday's games against California-Pennsylvania and Kutztown.

In non-conference play, Saginaw Valley State leads the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in team batting average at .395, followed by Wayne State at .322 and GVSU at .303. Defensively, GVSU boasts a league-leading team earned run average of 0.79, followed by WSU at 1.35 and Ashland at 2.63.
