GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly softball awards following week 11 of the 2022 season. Northwood junior Haley Frank was honored as GLIAC Player of the Week while Davenport senior Ellie Muilenburg earned pitcher of the week accolades.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Haley Frank, Northwood

Haley Frank (Monroe, Mich.) had a big week for Northwood at the plate and in the field, batting .500 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in seven games. She finished the week with a 1.045 slugging percentage. Frank's best game of the week came in an 8-3 victory over Purdue Northwest, where she went 4-4 with a home run, two RBIs and five RBIs. Frank also started all seven games at shortstop without making an error, leading the Timberwolves to a 5-2 week.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Ellie Muilenburg, Davenport

Senior right-hander Ellie Muilenburg (Grandville, Mich.) was named GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time in her career and first time this season on Monday. Last week, Muilenburg went 3-0 in three appearances without giving up a single earned run in 16 and two-thirds innings pitched. She struck out 22 batters and only walked three with an opposing batting average of just .153. The 5-7 hurler handled herself at the plate as well going 6-for-8 with four runs scored, five batted in and a three-run home run in game two against Parkside on Friday. With those performances, Muilenburg helped the Panthers stretch their winning streak to eight, which is the program's second longest in the Division II era.
