GVSU's Goble and Beatus receive GLIAC weekly softball awards

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following week seven of the 2022 season. Grand Valley State swept the awards, with redshirt junior Lydia Goble earning player of the week accolades and redshirt junior Hannah Beatus receiving pitcher of the week honors. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK  - Lydia Goble, Grand Valley State

Lydia Goble (Schoolcraft, Mich.) hit .579 (11-19) with a double and home run, scored seven runs and drove in a pair in six games during the week. She had four multi-hit games, including three hits twice, and reached base safely in all six. Goble was also perfect in the field at her shortstop position, not committing a single error while making some impressive plays to demonstrate range and arm strength to help her pitching staff.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Beatus, Grand Valley State

Hannah Beatus (North Aurora, Ill.) earned three wins in as many games, going the distance in all three for 21 innings pitched while allowing just two earned runs. She struck out 18 batters while walking just three and held opponents to a .156 batting average with a 0.71 WHIP and 0.67 ERA.
