2023 GLIAC Softball Tournament to be held at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) Softball Tournament will have a new home in 2023. The event, scheduled for May 4-7, will be held at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Ill., a northwest suburb of Chicago.

The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex is the 2,000-seat home of the Chicago Bandits, 2008, 2011 2015 & 2016 National Professional Fastpitch World Champion women's softball organization. The stadium is the first facility of its kind in the nation built expressly for women's professional sports.

"The GLIAC is thrilled that our softball tournament will be hosted at a world-class facility such as The Stadium at the Parkway Banks Sports Complex," said GLIAC Commissioner Kris Dunbar. "The facility, along with all that the Chicagoland area has to offer, will provide our student-athletes with a top-notch postseason experience; a goal which the conference continually strives to fulfill. We look forward to this partnership and working with its staff."

The Softball Stadium had its grand opening in June 2011. The Stadium is conveniently located adjacent to the Tri-State Tollway and just minutes from O’Hare International Airport. The stadium hosts a number of different tournaments from middle school to college, including the 2012-2013 IHSA Girl’s Softball Super Sectionals, and the 2014-2015 Big East Tournament. More recently, in 2020, it hosted Athletes Unlimited, an innovative professional sports league with a unique scoring system and a never-before-seen partnership between athletes and a league.

The venue also serves as the home field for Roosevelt University, which is set to join the GLIAC in 2024.
