GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly softball awards following week 10 of the 2023 season. Grand Valley State swept the honors, with redshirt senior shortstop Lydia Goble earning player of the week and redshirt senior hurler Hannah Beatus receiving pitcher of the week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lydia Goble, Grand Valley State
Lydia Goble had an outstanding week, driving in 10 runs for the Lakers, who went 5-0. She had three multi-hit games this past week, including a 3-for-4 effort in the second game of a doubleheader against Wayne State. Five of her eight hits this past week were extra-base hits, racking up two doubles, two triples and a home run. Goble also crossed the plate six times for the Lakers this past week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Beatus, Grand Valley State
Hannah Beatus tossed three complete games this past week, including two shutout victories. The senior from North Aurora, Illinois, racked up 26 strikeouts over her 19 innings of work. Beatus allowed just two earned runs this past week and her 0.51 ERA remains the best in the nation.
