GLIAC — Grand Valley State junior Gracyn Segard and Northern Michigan junior Ondrej Zach captured individual titles at the 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships this weekend, hosted at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Segard, in the 1 Meter Dive, and Zach, in the 1650 Freestyle, earned the top spot on the podium with their standout performances.

Gracyn Segard (Grandville, Mich.) claimed the 2022 women's 1-meter diving national championship Saturday night with a score of 433.15 points. She has claimed back-to-back national championships on the 1-meter board and has three diving national championships in two years with the Lakers.

Ondrej Zach (Rudolfov, Czech Republic), the top-ranked distance swimmer in the nation, capped his season with a national title in the longest event of the meet. His time of 15:09.55 for the 1650-yard freestyle broke his previous school record, set at last year's NCAA Championships where he was runner-up. Zach pulled away from the field at the halfway mark and never looked back, winning by four seconds over the next fastest finisher.
