Seniors Lucy Dernovsek and Lisa Staehlin both recorded double-doubles to lift the Huskies to 25-2 overall.

    Bay City, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced today the Winter2010 All-Academic Teams. 495 student-athletes from 14 institutions were honored in the following sports; men and women's basketball, men and women's swimming and diving and men and women's indoor track and field. To be eligible for all-academic status, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first year transfer.

The No. 3-ranked Michigan Tech women’s basketball team ran into a hot Emporia State team in the national quarterfinal round of the NCAA Elite Eight and lost 91-85 tonight in front of 1,936 fans at Civic Arena. The No. 15-ranked Lady Hornets blistered the nets for 57 percent and will move on to the national semifinal. The Huskies finish with a 31-3 record, and the careers of six remarkable seniors end after two straight trips to the NCAA Elite Eight.
