BAY CITY, Mich. - Northwood University sophomore forward Lauren Robak (Clarkston, Mich.) and Malone University senior guard Deborah Simmers (Anchorage, Alaska) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.
GLIAC North Division Player of the Week:
5-9, Sophomore, Forward
Northwood University Sophomore forward Lauren Robak led
Northwood to a pair of wins last week, averaging 19.0 points, 5.0
rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She scored a season-high
27 points while grabbing seven rebounds in the Timberwolves’
77-65 win over No. 20 Wayne State Thursday night. She was 9-17 from
the floor against the Warriors. Robak then had 11 points and
a game-high four assists in Northwood’s 60-46 road win over
Lake Superior State. She currently ranks sixth in the GLIAC in
scoring at 16.9 points per game.

5-9, Senior, Guard
Malone Univeristy senior guard Deborah Simmers helped the Pioneers extend their winning streak to four in a row last week after averaging 21 points and 3.5 rebounds in road victories over Lake Erie and Ashland.The senior guard tallied a game-high 24 points in a 64-56 win at Lake Erie on Thursday before registering 18 points and five boards during a 70-53 triumph at Ashland Saturday. With the victory over the Eagles, the Pioneers moved into a tie for first in the GLIAC South Division standings.
