BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly women's basketball awards following the season finale of the 2016-17 GLIAC Basketball regular season. Saginaw Valley State senior forward Emily Wendling earned GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division honors for the fifth time this season, while Ohio Dominican senior forward Lindsey Blanford captured South Division accolades.

NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Emily Wendling, Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley senior forward Emily Wendling led the Cardinals in sealing the outright GLIAC North title, notching her eighth double-double of the season and 17th game with at least 20 points in scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Thursday's 77-70 win at Wayne State. Wendling slid into second place on the SVSU all-time scoring list and is just four points from breaking the all-time scoring record of 1,922 points.

SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lindsey Blanford, Ohio Dominican

Ohio Dominican senior forward Lindsey Blanford came off the bench and in just 16 minutes recorded her first career double-double in her final regular season game. Blanford tallied 12 points and 10 boards, while she connected 5-of-8 shots from the field and 2-of-4 from behind the arc. She was the only GLIAC South player to record a double-double Thursday night.
