Michigan Tech's Anderson, Ashland's Snyder Selected GLIAC Players of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the second weekend of the 2016 women's basketball season. Michigan Tech senior guard Morgan Anderson earned GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division honors, while Ashland junior forward Laina Snyder captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Morgan Anderson, Michigan Tech

Michigan Tech senior guard Morgan Anderson averaged 19 points per game over the weekend, leading the Michigan Tech women's basketball team to a pair of non-conference victories at home. Anderson fired in 15 points on Friday and tossed in 23 points in Saturday's contest. She connected on 50 percent of her three point opportunities and went 8-of-9 at the free throw line. She combined to deal out 10 assists in the two games and grabbed five rebounds. On the season, Anderson leads the Huskies in scoring at 17.3 points per game and is averaging 4.3 assists per contest. She is finding the mark on 52.6 percent of her three point opportunities. 


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Laina Snyder, Ashland

Ashland junior forward Laina Snyder recorded 29 points, 14 rebounds, six steals, three blocks, two assists on 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) from the field in a 88-66 home win over previously undefeated UIndy.
