GLIAC - Ashland sophomore guard Jodi Johnson has been selected 2017-18 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Year in voting conducted by the league's head coaches. Northern Michigan's Lexi Smith was selected GLIAC Freshman of the Year, while Ashland's Robyn Fralick earned Coach of the Year accolades after guiding the Eagles to back-to-back conference titles and another unbeaten campaign.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Ashland sophomore Jodi Johnson was named GLIAC South Player of the Week seven times in 2017-18 and put up strong numbers across the board during the regular season. She was the GLIAC's leading scorer at 19.5 points per game, is second in field-goal percentage at 62.3, first in 3-point field-goal percentage at 59.6, fourth in free-throw percentage at 85.4, fourth in assists per game at 3.9 and first in steals per game at 4.0. The sophomore guard also has set a new Ashland single-season steals record with 111. This is Ashland's fourth GLIAC Player of the Year honor, along with Laina Snyder (2016-17) and Kari Daugherty (2011-12 and 2012-13).

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR - Northern Michigan's Lexi Smith led the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game and reached double figures 19 times.  She set a school record with most consecutive made free throws in a game, going 15-15 against Saginaw Valley State University and scored a career-high 29 points at Grand Valley State University.

COACH OF THE YEAR - Ashland head coach Robyn Fralick has led the Eagles to a second consecutive undefeated regular season, and a third consecutive GLIAC regular-season title. In less than three full seasons, Fralick has amassed a record of 96-2 (.980) with an NCAA Division II national championship, a WBCA Division II National Coach of the Year award and now three straight GLIAC Coach of the Year honors.

Fralick has guided Ashland to a 65-game winning streak heading into the 2018 GLIAC Tournament, the sixth-longest in NCAA basketball history, regardless of level or gender.
This is Ashland's fourth GLIAC Coach of the Year honor, along with Sue Ramsey in 2011-12.
