Four #GLIACWBB Programs Appear in Second Midwest Region Rankings

NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's basketball teams appeared in the second NCAA Division II Midwest Region Rankings of 2018 released on Wednesday (Feb. 21).

The undefeated Ashland Eagles are the lone unbeaten team in the country and are rolling at 26-0 atop the region after clinching the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament. Michigan Tech remained steady at No. 4, while Grand Valley State is stayed No. 5 in the initial rankings. The Wayne State Warriors entered this week's regional Top 10 and sit in the No. 9 position heading into a big road trip vs. Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.

The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The GLVC holds three regional ranking positions with the G-MAC occupying three positions.

The 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will take place on Sunday, March 4th at 10 PM on NCAA.com. The Top 8 in each region will qualify for the postseason championships.
