Ashland's Laina Snyder compiled 24 points and 11 rebounds to led the No. 1 Eagles to their 53rd consecutive victory over rival Grand Valley State. AU forced GVSU into 31 turnovers which resulted in 26 points. Ashland went 26-for-31 from the free throw stripe on the night as Jodi Johnson pitched in with 19 points, seven rebounds and six steals in the victory. Jenn DeBoer paced the Lakers with 19 points in the road defeat.
#16 MICHIGAN TECH DEF. FERRIS STATE, 80-77 | BOX SCORE
Ferris State led by as many as 13 points in the third quarter before the No. 16 Michigan Tech Huskies stormed back to earn a big road win Thursday night in Big Rapids. A Brenna Heise layup with 31 second remaining gave the Huskies a two-point lead and a pair of Lindsay Winter free throws with six seconds to play was enough for MTU to pull out the come-from-behind victory as the Bulldogs final shot was off target. The Huskies put all five starters in double figure scoring highlighted by 19 points and six rebounds from Heise. Rachel McInerney recorded a game-high 30 points and 16 rebounds in the hard-fought defeat.
DAVENPORT DEF. NORTHWOOD, 63-50 | BOX SCORE
Davenport held Northwood to just 28.3 percent shooting in the contest while the Panthers fired 53.3 percent from the field to earn the victory. Amanda Merz paced DU with 15 points and six steals, while Emily Severn added 13 points in the win. Davenport dominated the points in the paint battle by a 30-10 margin. DU pulled away in the fourth quarter outscoring NU by a 22-10 count.
WAYNE STATE DEF. SAGINAW VALLEY, 69-43 | BOX SCORE
Wayne State outscored Saginaw Valley 24-9 in the second quarter to take a big 37-17 lead into the intermission en route to a home victory. WSU was led by Nastassja Chambers and Shannon Wilson who each recorded 19 points, while SVSU's Laurel Jacqmain recorded a double-double, including a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors held SVSU to just 28.3 percent shooting and controlled the paint by a 32-8 margin.
NORTHERN MICHIGAN DEF. LAKE SUPERIOR STATE, 79-63 | BOX SCORE
Northern Michigan's Jessica Schultz recorded a game-high 22 points, while Erin Honkala added 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Wildcats to a road victory over Lake Superior State. NMU capitalized on a 24-for-30 performance from the free throw line and outrebounded LSSU by a 36-25 margin en route to the win. The Wildcats never trailed in a contest where they controlled second chance points, 13-2.
TIFFIN DEF. PURDUE NORTHWEST, 54-46 | BOX SCORE
Tiffin picked up a home triumph Thursday night in a low-scoring affair. Madison Jackson and Ali Schirmer each posted 14 points for the Dragons in the victory. Ellie Michalski recorded a game-high 17 rebounds to go with 11 points, while Shae Rhonehouse posted 16 points for Purdue Northwest in the loss.
