SVSU's Zarycki recognized as GLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Saginaw Valley State senior guard Kaitlyn Zarycki has been honored as GLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week following week 10 of the 2022-23 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kaitlyn Zarycki, Saginaw Valley State

Saginaw Valley State University senior guard Kaitlyn Zarycki was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women’s basketball player of the week for the third time this season on Monday afternoon. Zarycki had an incredible performance this past week for the Cardinals as she shot 60.5% from the floor in a 2-0 week. She started with a Thursday-night performance that ended four points shy of matching her career-high in points and earned a win over Ferris State. She followed that up by leading SVSU to a victory over Lake Superior State. When the dust settled she had 59 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals in two games. This is the sixth conference player of the week award for Zarycki’s career, third of the 2022-23 campaign.

HONORABLE MENTION: Kenzie Bowers (FSU), Nicole Kamin (GVSU), Makaylee Kuhn (NMU), Isabella Lenz (MTU), Alyssa Nelson (Parkside), Mattison Rayman (LSSU), Dash Shaw (PNW), Shea Tripp (WSU)
