GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Parkside senior guard Alyssa Nelson has been honored with GLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week following week seven of the 2022-23 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alyssa Nelson, Parkside
Alyssa Nelson led the Parkside Rangers to a dominating road win against Missouri-St. Louis on New Year's Eve, as the Rangers defeated the Tritons 91-65. Nelson scored 21 points, shooting 7-11 from the field and 4-6 from behind the three-point line. She was also a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. Nelson's impressive line added to a record-breaking performance for the Rangers, as the team combined for a program high .673 (33-49) field goal percentage. The previous program high of .625 had stood since December 4, 2012 when Parkside defeated Finlandia 100-28.
