FSU's Jeffords, WSU's Busse Tabbed GLIAC Golfers of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards once again this season. Ferris State sophomore Jeff Jeffords claimed co-medalist honors on the men's side, while Wayne State freshman Brooke Busse captured recognition in women's competition.


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | Josh Jeffords - Ferris State

Ferris State University's Josh Jeffords had an impressive weekend of action as he tied for first place overall in the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational held over the weekend at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind. Jeffords shot a first-place tying 141 score to finish in a four-way tie atop the leaderboard. After shooting an even-par 72 in day one action, he came back with a three-under 69 score in the final round. It marked his first tournament win of his collegiate career. His play helped FSU finish with back-to-back 295 team scores each day in the 36-hole event.


WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | Brooke Busse - Wayne State

Wayne State freshman Brooke Busse helped the women's golf team win its third tournament of the season on Friday at the Mister Bee Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Valley University.  She posted her best finish of her debut season by shooting a 159 (81, 78) to collect runner-up honors.
