GVSU's DeLong and NU's Harding named GLIAC Golfers of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly golf award of the spring season. Grand Valley State freshman Charles DeLong was selected men's player of the week while Northwood senior Sydni Harding was honored as the women's player of the week. 


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Charles DeLong, Grand Valley State

Freshman Charles DeLong (DeWitt, Mich.) won his third tournament of the year on Sunday, April 10 at the Bill Blazer Memorial in Urbana, Ohio carding 140 (-4) after two rounds. DeLong started day two of the tournament tied for first at even par (72) after the first day of golf. He tallied five birdies in the second round and an eagle on a par 4 325-yard 13th hole to secure the victory scoring four-under par (68) in the second round. 


WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Sydni Harding, Northwood

Sydni Harding (Grand Blanc, Mich.) tied for fourth overall out of 88 players at the Cav Classic April 11-12. She carded rounds of 73 & 77 to finish with a six-over par total of 150. Harding was the top finishing among GLIAC golfers and led Northwood to a fifth place finish at the event.
