GVSU's DeLong and Stoll earn GLIAC Golfer of the Week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly men's and women's golf awards for the 2023 spring season. Grand Valley State student-athletes secured both awards, as sophomore Charles DeLong received men's golfer of the week recognition while sophomore Olivia Stoll was selected as women's golfer of the week.


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Charles DeLong, Grand Valley State

For the second consecutive week, Charles DeLong has been named GLIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week following him leading the Lakers to the team title at the Ken Partridge Invitational, as well as taking home the individual title. DeLong shot rounds of 68, 70, and 67 to end the tournament at -11 and win by five strokes. Over the three rounds, he sank two eagles and 11 birdies to finish off his sixth win of the season and the 12th of his career. This is the third GLIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week award this season for DeLong and the 10th of his Laker career.


WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Stoll, Grand Valley State

Sophomore Olivia Stoll earned her second career GLIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week award after leading GVSU to the UMSL Spring Invitational crown and winning the event individually as well. Stoll shot rounds of 74, 71, and 74 to win the event by four strokes with a final score of six over. She sank 12 birdies over the three rounds to win her third event of the season, and the second of the spring season.
