GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its seventh GLIAC Lacrosse Player of the Week awards of the 2018 season. This week Indianapolis freshman attacker Lauryn Hardoy earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Grand Valley State senior goalkeeper Brianna DeMilia earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lauryn Hardoy, Indianapolis
UIndy freshman Lauryn Hardoy, just as she has all season, played an integral role this past weekend in the Hounds’ pair of conference victories, which also served as wins over ranked opponents. The Greyhounds’ strong defensive presence in the second half propelled them to an 18-16 triumph over No. 13 Grand Valley State, while a second-half run ensured another comeback victory over No. 25 Tiffin.
The Granite Bay, Calif. native scored 10 goals in the two games, matching a season-high six scores against the Lakers on Friday night. The rookie scored four against the Dragons, with her third providing the momentum that would spark the come-from-behind win. Hardoy now has a team-best 40 goals this season, which ranks fourth in the GLIAC. Her 61 total points is second in the conference and 21 assists is sixth. The Greyhounds hit the road for the final three games of the regular season, and will travel up to Grand Rapids, Mich. for a conference tilt with Davenport on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Brianna DeMilia, Grand Valley State
