UIndy's Katz and King claim women's lacrosse weekly awards

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the Week 3 GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2019 season. Indianapolis junior Destinie Katz was named Offensive Player of the Week, while UIndy freshman Cassidy King was named Defensive Player of the Week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Destinie Katz - Indianapolis

Destinie Katz (Manorville, N.Y.) accumulated 16 points in two blowout wins for UIndy. The senior scored eight goals and dished out eight assists, including a 10-point performance at McKendree on Sunday. The junior handed out five assists against the Bearcats, the third time this season she has done so.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Cassidy King - Indianapolis

Cassidy King (Canandaigua, N.Y.) has been impressive thus far in her collegiate career. The rookie netminder stopped eight shots against the Saints and Bearcats, including a seven-of-11 on Sunday at McKendree. She also totaled a pair of caused turnovers and one ground ball in the two wins -- 29-1 over Maryville and 22-4 against McKendree.
