Allendale, MI. -- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has named Molly Bursinger as the Division II Offensive Player of the Week (March 16). Bursinger posted career-highs in the Laker wins against Findlay (March 10) and Indiana (Pa.) on Friday.
Bursinger opened her sophomore campaign with five goals, five draw controls and three ground balls in the dominant GVSU decision over Findlay, 18-4. The Ohio native doubled her draw control figure with a total of 10, and posted five goals and three ground balls in the Indiana (Pa.) victory. Having appeared in just six games for GVSU throughout her career, this is the first time Bursinger has received the IWLCA Player of the Week honor, and the first mention in the past two seasons for the Lakers.
GVSU opens at home against Indianapolis on Saturday, March 20 at 1 p.m. The Greyhounds handed the Lakers their lone loss of the 2020 season, 14-11.
