GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the first GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2021 season. Grand Valley St. claimed both honors as freshman attacker Maddy Champagne was named Offensive Player of the Week, while junior teammate Maggie Hammer, earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Maggie Hammer held the Dragons to three goals off of six shots on goal on Sunday (Feb. 28). The Laker junior led the game with four of the team's nine caused turnovers and added three draw controls. This is the first time in her career that Hammer has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week
