DU's Miller, GVSU's Gritter Claim Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the second GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2021 season. Davenport attacker Aaliyah Miller was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Grand Valley St. defender Anna Gritter was named Defensive Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Aaliyah Miller - Davenport

For the first time in her career, junior attacker Aaliyah Miller has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. The honor comes after Miller's big day in Davenport's 17-11 win at Findlay on Friday. The Kalamazoo native racked up nine points thanks to six goals and three assists to go with three ground balls while all six of her shot attempts were on target. This marks the sixth time the league has presented Davenport with a weekly honor including the third such occasion for an offensive performance.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Anna Gritter - Grand Valley St.

Anna Gritter was part of a Laker defense that held its opponents to just 12 goals over a two-game span.  The GVSU graduate student picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers in the victory over Findlay (3/10) and two ground balls and one caused turnover in the decision on Friday against Indiana (PA).  This is the first time in her career that Gritter has earned the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week nod.
