GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the final GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2021 season. Grand Valley State swept both awards, with sophomore Molly Bursinger earning Offensive Player of the Week, and teammate Anna Gritter securing Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Molly Bursinger, Grand Valley St.
Sophomore Molly Bursinger earned the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor following Tuesday's (April 27) win over Davenport, 20-15, to secure the program's seventh GLIAC Regular Season Title. Bursinger netted six goals and won 10 draw controls, good for team highs. This marks the first weekly conference mention of her career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Anna Gritter, Grand Valley St.
Anna Gritter collected the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week nod for her performance in the final regular season win over Davenport on Tuesday. The Laker graduate student picked up six ground balls and caused a turnover to capture the regular season title. This is the second time this season that Gritter has earned the conference honor.
