GLIAC -- Grand Valley State, Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State have received bids to the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship, the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee revealed during the selection show on Monday evening.

Grand Valley State (18-1-2) will serve as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, following an undefeated run through the regular season, which resulted in a GLIAC Championship, the program's 15th consecutive.

The Lakers will host No. 8 seed Cedarville (12-5-2) in a first round matchup on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. in Allendale. Should GVSU advance, it will face the winner of No. 4 McKendree and No. 5 UIndy in the second round.

Ferris State (15-3-3), fresh off its GLIAC Tournament championship run, is the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region. The Bulldogs are making their second NCAA championship appearance in program history.

Ferris State will take on GLIAC foe, No. 6 seed Saginaw Valley State (13-5-1), in a first round contest at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 in Ashland, Ohio. The Bulldogs eliminated the Cardinals from the GLIAC Tournament, topping SVSU, 1-0, in the semifinals. In a regular season matchup earlier this season, Ferris State and Saginaw Valley played to a scoreless draw in Big Rapids.

For Saginaw Valley State, the tournament bid is the fourth in program history (2009, 2014, 2018). The 2021 appearance will be the third under head coach Michael O'Neill.

The winner of the Ferris State-Saginaw Valley State match will advance to play either No. 2 seed Ashland or No. 7 seed Drury on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 12 p.m.
