GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 5 of the 2022 women's soccer season. Grand Valley State junior forward Taylor Reid earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Ferris State sophomore defender Lindsay Cole received GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Taylor Reid, Grand Valley State

Taylor Reid (Lees Summit, Mo.) has been named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. Reid scored a goal against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech to help the Lakers go 2-0 over the weekend and move into first place in the GLIAC standings. The junior scored the game-winning goal against Michigan Tech in the 1-0 win. Reid now leads the team with six goals and has scored four in the last three games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lindsay Cole, Ferris State

Ferris State University sophomore outside back Lindsay Cole played a key role over the weekend as FSU stretched its league winning streak to three consecutive games with back-to-back home wins in Big Rapids. Cole had the game-winning assist on Sunday in a 2-0 shutout win over Parkside, which represented FSU's third-straight conference shutout victory. For the weekend, including Friday?s 1-0 triumph over Purdue Northwest, she finished with four shots, including three on goal as the Bulldogs won the two games utilizing two different goalkeepers. Her play helped the Bulldogs outshoot the opposition 61-10 for the two contests as the defense limited the opponents;' scoring opportunities with strong play on the back end.
