FSU's Zamborini and NMU's Kreps earn women's soccer GLIAC Player of the Week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week seven of the 2022 women's soccer season. Ferris State senior forward Isabella Zamborini earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Northern Michigan senior goalkeeper Shenae Kreps received GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Isabella Zamborini, Ferris State

Ferris State University senior forward Isabella Zamborini led the Bulldogs to three wins this past week, totaling a team-high eight points with three goals and two assists in addition to two game-winning markers. Zamborini scored the game-winner and totaled a goal and two assists in Monday?s 4-1 non-league home win over Northwood before coming back with two goals for four points and the game-winner on Friday in a 4-0 shutout at Purdue Northwest. Her play also helped FSU notch a 1-0 road win at Parkside on Sunday to move into a tie for second place overall in the league standings. She finished the three-game stretch with 14 total shots, including 10 on goal for the Bulldogs and she averaged 2.67 points per game for the week.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Shenae Kreps, Northern Michigan

Shenae Kreps had an excellent weekend in the net for the Wildcats. Kreps played the entire 90 minutes in each contest, as she posted two shutouts. She helped NMU to a 2-0 win over Davenport and then a 0-0 draw against No. 6 Grand Valley State. She had three timely saves over the weekend to keep opponent's out of the net. Kreps is currently riding a three-game shutout streak.
