GLIAC – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the women's soccer postseason awards for fall 2022, as voted on by the league's coaches.
Grand Valley State junior forward Taylor Reid (Lees Summit, Mo.) was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Reid notched 10 goals, including three game-winning goals, and 22 points in conference play. She posted three multi-goal games and 35 shot attempts.
GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Grand Valley State senior defender Cate Brown (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.). Brown led a suffocating Laker defense that surrendered just 11 goals in conference play. Brown was a major contributor to nine total shutouts and notched a goal and five assists. Brown led all Laker field players with 1,390 minutes played including complete games.
Grand Valley State sophomore Kendall Robertson (Jackson, Mich.) earned GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year recognition. Robertson started all 19 games for the Lakers, posting a .786 save percentage and a 0.68 goal-against average. Robertson recorded six shutouts and three combined shutouts on the year, making 44 saves.
GLIAC Freshman of the Year was awarded to Northern Michigan forward Molly Pistorius, who a standout first season for the Northern Michigan Wildcats. She is in the top 10 in the GLIAC in each point category with six assists (T-3rd), five goals (T-9th), and 16 points (T-9th). Each of those marks is the best among conference freshmen. A native of Park Ridge, Illinois, Pistorius has played in every match for the Wildcats, starting all but one.
Katie Hultin of Grand Valley State was named 2022 GLIAC Coach of the Year. Hultin guided the Lakers to a 13-2-4 overall record in her first season at the helm of the Laker program. Hultin steered the Lakers to their 17th GLIAC regular season championship in program history with a 10-1-3 GLIAC mark.
