Wayne State's Cazacu Earns GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fifth women's tennis weekly awards for the 2018 season. Wayne State freshman Laura Cazacu claimed GLIAC Player of the Week honors after an impressive weekend.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Laura Cazacu - Wayne State

Wayne State freshman Laura Cazacu went 6-0 overall this past week in doubles and singles. At No. 2 doubles with partner Linda Liong, Cazacu was undefeated against Northwood, Ferris State, and Grand Valley State. She won in straight sets against Northwood at the No. 4 singles spot. Cazacu was moved up to No. 3 singles against GVSU and won 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 to help Wayne State edge out the match, 4-3. For the GLIAC season, she is now 6-1 in singles and 5-2 in doubles.
