GVSU's Arce and Griva receive GLIAC Tennis Players of the Week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its 12th weekly tennis awards for the 2022 campaign. Grand Valley State senior Sebastian Arce was named men's player of the week, while Grand Valley State senior Vera Griva was selected women's player of the week.


MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sebastian Arce, Grand Valley State

Sebastian Arce (Cali, Columbia) closed out the regular season with a singles and doubles win at the No. 2 position to help GVSU to a win against Lewis. Arce finished the regular season with a 10-3 singles record and a 13-4 doubles record. This is his second GLIAC player of the week honors this season.
 

WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Vera Griva, Grand Valley State

Vera Griva (Athens, Greece) went 4-0 this past week to help GVSU claim wins over Lewis and Saginaw Valley State. The senior went 2-0 from the No. 1 position in singles and 2-0 from the No. 2 position in doubles. The win over Saginaw Valley State clinched GVSU a three way share of the regular season championship.
