2015 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship Results

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women’s track and field team captured its 16th consecutive conference title after scoring 159 total points throughout the three-day competition, while the GVSU men won its fourth league title in the last five seasons with 157 total points after an exciting three days at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Over the course of the three-day championship, five conference records were broken.

Day three highlights included the Tiffin men and women 4x400 meter relay team taking home a first place finish. The women’s team of Morgan Horn, Adaysha Parker, Theresa Scott, and Brittany Darby set a new GLIAC record with a time of 46.33. The Dragons men's team consisting of Cortez Goodwin, David Hatchett, Travis Steinback, and Michael King crossed the finish line with a time of 41.04.

Ashland’s Elijha Owens set a new conference record in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 13.91 and Tiffin’s Lamar Hargrove broke a five-year old record in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 10.33. Hargrove also won the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.15.  Hargrove was named as the 2015 GLIAC Men’s Outdoor Running Athlete of the Year and Runner of the Meet. Findlay’s Justin Welch clinched the Field Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Meet after winning both the Discus (56.39 meters) and the Hammer Throw (69.82 meters).

Angela Ritter from GVSU helped the women’s team to their title after winning the 100 meter dash, with a time of 11.97 and the 200 meter dash, with a time of 24.28. Ritter also joined teammates Alexis Duncan, Brittney Bainster, Breanna Luba in the 4x400 meter relay team that came in first with a time of 3:47.35. She was also named the 2015 GLIAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Meet.
