Ferris State & Grand Valley State Ranked in AVCA Preseason Top 25

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams are ranked in the 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Preseason Top 25 Poll. Ferris State will begin the campaign ranked 13th while Grand Valley will start the season ranked 14th.

Ferris State closed a memorable 2013 campaign with a 25-9 overall record. FSU, which made its 18th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance last fall, claimed a regional crown to reach the Elite Eight and national quarterfinals for only the third time in school history and first since 1989.

GVSU, the 2013 GLIAC regular season and tournament champions, returns five starters and a dozen letterwinners from last year's team that finished with a 31-4 record.

Ashland, and Northern Michigan were listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" category.
