Ferris State Leaps to No. 4 in AVCA Poll; NMU, WSU Receiving Votes

AVCA -- The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad has vaulted up to No. 4 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. The Bulldogs knocked of No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul and No. 17 Winona State in clean sweeps en route to a 4-0 start last weekend. FSU was one of four GLIAC volleyball programs to go unbeaten on the opening weekend and will head to Florida next week to face a pair of ranked foes in No. 23 Florida Southern and No. 25 Tampa. 

Northern Michigan (4-0) and Wayne State (3-1) are also receiving votes in this week's poll. NMU will host the Wildcat Open this upcoming weekend and will welcome the new No. 1 Minnesota Duluth to Marquette where NMU, Northwood, Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech will all have a shot at defeating the top-ranked program. Wayne State will host the Warrior Invitational this weekend in Detroit.
