GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following Week 6 of the 2021 volleyball season. Saginaw Valley State freshman Sarah Veale earned GLIAC Volleyball North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ferris State freshman Keona Salesman captured the GLIAC Volleyball South Division Player of the Week award.

Ferris State University freshman outside hitter Keona Salesman (Coldwater, Mich.) had a big week for the Bulldogs, who stretched their winning streak to six consecutive GLIAC wins with a pair of road sweeps. Salesman totaled a team-high 26 kills to go with five digs, two blocks and an ace while posting a team-leading .333 attack figure in back-to-back wins on the road over Saginaw Valley State and Wayne State. Salesman totaled 14 kills in Friday night's victory and came back with 12 kills on Saturday, leading FSU in both contests where only six total sets were played on the weekend. She averaged 4.33 kills and 4.7 points per set for the Bulldogs, who have now won each of their last five matches via 3-0 sweeps.
