GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the fourth week of the 2018 cross country season. Grand Valley State redshirt junior Allie Ludge captured GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors on the women's side, while GVSU sophomore Enael Woldemichael garnered the men's award.
WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Allie Ludge - Grand Valley State
Grand Valley State redshirt junior Allie Ludge had a stellar weekend in the 5K race after she finished third overall with a time of 16:57.63, that helped the team to a second place finish at the 41st Loyola Lakefront Invitational. Ludge’s time of 16:57.63 is also a new person-best, with her previous time being 17:33.3.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Enael Woldemichael - Grand Valley State
GVSU sophomore Enael Woldemichael had a blistering time in the 8K race after he ran a 23:50.34 and finished second overall, that helped the Lakers to a first place finish at the 41st Loyola Lakefront Invitational. In addition, Woldemichale’s time of 23:50.34 is also a person-best, as he shattered his previous record of 24:30.5.
