GVSU's Chada and Ludge Earn GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week Accolades

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week four of the 2019 cross country season. Grand Valley St. sophomore Tanner Chada captured GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors on the men's side, while Grand Valley St. senior Allie Ludge garnered the women's award following their performances at the Ohio State Buckeye Preview. 


MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Tanner Chada - Grand Valley State 

Laker sophomore Tanner Chada was crowned the men’s 8K individual champion at the Buckeye Preview (Sept. 28) and led the men’s team to place second overall.  The 2018 GLIAC Freshman of the Year crossed the finish line at 24:27.2 for his best time of the season, 10 seconds before the runner-up.  This is Chada’s second GLIAC Athlete of the Week accolade this season. 


WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Allie Ludge - Grand Valley State 

GVSU senior Allie Ludge placed seventh at the Buckeye Preview with a time of 21:10.8 for her best performance of the year.  Ludge was the first Laker to cross the finish line behind six Big Ten student-athletes.  This is the second time Ludge has been awarded this honor for the 2019 season.
