KENOSHA, Wis. – The NCAA has awarded three future Division II Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships to UW-Parkside, including the 2025 NCAA II National Championships. The events will take place at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis.

Parkside will host the following championships:
  • 2022 NCAA II Men's and Women's Midwest Regional Championships
  • 2025 NCAA II Men's and Women's Midwest Regional Championships
  • 2025 NCAA II Men's and Women's National Championships

"We're thrilled to have these opportunities to host the nation's best runners at one of the nation's best courses – Wayne Dannehl National Cross Country Course," said Andrew Gavin, Director of Athletics. "I thank Chris BarkerCraig Becker, Coach Maas, Pete Henkes, and Ryan Ridley for their efforts in securing these bids. On the strength of our world-class venue and this incredible team, we stand ready to host first-class events and look forward to welcoming student-athletes and coaches from around Division II to our University and our community."

UW-Parkside hosted the NCAA II National Championships in 1980, 1983 and most recently in 1997. An excellent course for runners, it was the site of the NAIA National Cross Country Championships from 1976 through 2002 (with exception of 1980) also hosting the 2007 & 2008 Championships. It annually is the home of one or more NCAA Division I, II and III affiliated conference championships including the Big East ('09, '13, '19), United Athletic Association ('18), Great Lakes Valley ('02, '10 and '15), CCIW ('08 & '15) and Horizon League ('04, '12, '14, '18). It has been the home of the Foot Locker Cross Country Midwest Regional since 1984.

"This is a huge announcement for our University and program!" Head cross country and track & field coach Nick Maas said. "A lot of people have worked on making this a reality. We feel as though we have the best cross country venue and staff in the nation at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. I cannot wait to showcase not only our course and University to the rest of the country, but also our ever-growing competitive program. We hope to get every single former member of our cross country rosters out to support the Rangers as we host these championships."

For only the third time in its history, the NCAA undertook a site selection process where most of its championships were put out for bid at the same time.

The result: The Association made more than 450 selections of host sites for preliminary rounds and final sites of predetermined championships in Divisions I, II and III, with most to be held from 2022-23 through 2025-26.

The NCAA received more than 3,000 bid submissions from NCAA member schools, conferences, sports commissions and cities vying to host predetermined rounds for 86 of the NCAA's 90 championships. The sites were selected by the respective NCAA sports committees and approved by the divisional competition oversight and championships committees.
